I'm enjoying your time with your mother, as well. Thanks for sharing your stories.

We were fortunate to have my mother for extended summer visits for her last three years of her life. One year it was because she needed major back surgery and this was the perfect place for it.

She was musing about staying with us, something about not wanting to cause any hard feelings among the sisters.

I thought she meant she was showing favoritism by staying with me! No, she thought we would be arguing about who HAD to take her!!

I hope I was able to assure her that it was my pleasure. She was such a sweetheart.

You are lucky, indeed. Glad you have enjoyed such a nice long visit. I get to see my parents for a few days next week. It's never long enough, our visits, but I'll take what I can get and enjoy them with gusto!

Hi! So glad you all are having fun. Mom really needed to just get away, relax and enjoy herself. I have emailed you but I guess it just didn't get through. Just mainly asking about the fires and it they affected any of your friends and checking on the two of you. Can't wait to hear every single detail about your trip. And England, Ireland and Scotland are on our list too so I will be anxious to hear all about that one as well!

I'm so glad that you are having a great time together. It has been a fast busy month around here, lots of changes going on, we have been hard at work. The furniture is getting moved back in on Saturday. We will still have things to do but hopefully all of the BIG stuff is done.

Altho my relationshiip with my mom was special for the most part, it was nothing like yours.
I so wish it had been.Before mom died, we did things together that we both enjoyed, we laughed stayed up all night watching TV and did we shop!!!I still miss her every day.
Boy, do I envy you and the trip you are taking.Would give anything to be able to do it too, but that's just not in the cards for me, so send lots of pix and I'll be there in spirit.

You have a whole MONTH to spend with your Mom? I'm so jealous. I only had a week to spend with mine. Our relationship is simialr to yours with your Mom. I love being with her and I miss her when she's gone. And although she is fairly young (same age as you) she is chronically ill (COPD and congestive heart failure) I too worry about how much time is left.

I will be simply devastated when she passes away.

I really must agree with you. My relationship with my mom is one of the greatest. We can talk about anything. I have thought several times that I don't know what I would ever do without her. I'm so glad to hear that you share this special bond with your mom. It is something spectacular for sure! Enjoy this next week. Tell her I love her too!
